KINGS OF MACEDON. Perseus, 179-168 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 32 mm, 15.52 g, 11 h), reduced standard, Pella or Amphipolis, circa 171-168. Diademed head of Perseus to right. Rev. BAΣIΛEΩΣ - ΠEΡΣEΩΣ Eagle with spread wings standing right on thunderbolt; above, monogram of ΠΟ; to right, monogram of AY; between the eagle's legs, monogram of ΛΩ; all within oak wreath; in exergue, plow right. Mamroth, Perseus, 26. Attractive iridescent toning. Struck from a slightly worn obverse die, otherwise, good very fine.
